Our Vision

An indoor climbing gym rooted in the mountains

The Columbia Valley is home to some of the most stunning alpine terrain in Canada — but until now, there's been no dedicated indoor space to train, learn, and connect as a climbing community. Columbia Valley Climbing Centre will change that.

We're planning a full-service facility with bouldering, top-rope, and lead walls, along with gear, coaching, and a space that welcomes everyone from first-timers to seasoned trad climbers. We're registered, we're moving forward, and we're building the team and partnerships to make it real.

What We're Planning

Something for everyone in the Valley

Invermere has incredible outdoor recreation — but almost nothing purpose-built for families who want to climb together, or kids who need a safe, exciting venue for a birthday party. We're building all three under one roof.

For Everyone

Top Rope & Lead

Full-height walls with auto-belays for beginners and lead climbing for those chasing the next grade. Instruction available for all levels — from your very first clip to multi-pitch prep.

For Trainers & Casuals

Bouldering

No harness, no fuss. Our bouldering area will have problems set for all abilities — from kids learning movement to athletes training power and technique year-round.

For Families & Groups

Kids Zone & Event Space

A dedicated kids zone with age-appropriate walls and colourful routes, plus a private bookable space for birthday parties and group events. The kind of thing the Valley has been missing.

In Our Backyard

World-class climbing. Right outside our door.

The Bugaboos are one of North America's premier alpine destinations — and they're less than an hour from Invermere. An indoor gym gives this community the training ground to make the most of terrain like this, and gives newcomers a coached path to get out there.

Why It Matters

The Valley needs this

👨‍👩‍👧

Family-first

Right now there are very few options for active family outings year-round. A climbing gym changes that — for toddlers, teens, and parents alike.

🎂

Birthday parties

A bookable kids zone means unforgettable birthday parties with a real adventure feel — something no other local venue currently offers.

🧗

Year-round training

Stay sharp for summer rock season through the winter, or pick up climbing for the very first time — safely indoors, with coaching available.

What We Stand For

Our Founding Values

We don't have a gym yet — but we know exactly what kind of place we want to build. These are the principles that will guide every decision we make, from how we design the space to how we welcome a seasoned climber, a curious newcomer, or anyone in between through the door for the very first time.

01

Integrity

Safety, honesty, and respect are the foundation of everything we do — for our members, our staff, and our community. As an organization, integrity is our most valuable asset. As individuals, it's a daily choice.

02

Community Driven

We're building CVCC to serve the Columbia Valley — to celebrate our shared love of climbing, the outdoors, and this remarkable place we call home. From birthday parties to alpine objectives, we want this to be a place where the community shows up for each other.

03

Well-Being

A healthy body supports a healthy mind — and healthy minds build a healthy community. Creating an engaging, safe, and welcoming space where members of all ages can focus on their physical and mental well-being is what drives us every day.

04

Family First

Climbing is for everyone — from those chasing their next grade to those just discovering the sport for the first time. We believe the wall has a way of bringing people together, and that includes families. CVCC will be a place where every generation can climb, challenge themselves, and encourage each other.

05

Authentic Experience

CVCC is being built by climbers, for climbers. Our founders have spent years climbing across the world, working inside climbing gyms, and experiencing firsthand how discovering this sport can genuinely change a life. That's the experience — challenging, welcoming, and real — that we're determined to bring to the Valley.

06

Growth

We're always aiming higher — as individuals, as a business, and as a community. Whether it's a child topping out their first route or a climber finally cracking a grade they've been chasing for months, we believe growth is a lifelong pursuit worth celebrating.
